Three aspherical elements combine with one ED glass element to deliver excellent optical performance throughout the zoom range. Clear, lifelike rendering has been achieved without colour bleeding. A 7-blade circular aperture unit contributes to attractive, natural-looking bokeh.

Optical image stabilisation using advanced algorithms supports handheld shooting. It also works with in-body stabilisation and Sony's Active Mode to deliver reliable stabilisation for movies. The Breathing Compensation feature in a series bodies is also supported, reducing distracting angle of view shifts and allowing smooth rack focusing.

Sony's "Road to Zero" project aims for a zero environmental footprint by 2050. The environmental footprint of this product has been minimised from development through supply chain, production, and packaging. We are also transitioning to non-plastic packaging materials.
